Question: Broken ribs - how long until swelling goes down.?
My husband broke 11 ribs two months ago and, although things are slowly getting better, he still has some swelling and pain on the affected side. Is this normal.? If you have experience of this I'd be grateful for your input.Health Question & Answer

ive seen broken ribs on family members..these bones are very fragile and the heal very slow..take some pain relivers like bayers ... dont make hard moves or felx or anything..its a slooooow(months)recuperation so be calm its normal..he should try not to move a lot..be in a relax position..lay on his back must of time try not to sit in couchs or soft things..u can use a pillow to sit on wooden chairs..watch your posture when ur sit and standing.. try not to exercise or have any hard time(to breath to fast) cause the lungs move ur bone chest around them..but give some time and rest ur ribs will be fineHealth Question & Answer
