Should I get the stitches out?!

Question: Should I get the stitches out.?
I had a tumor removed from my finger a month ago. The Dr. took off my nail to get to the tumor. He informed me I had dissolvable stitches. My nail is growing back and the stitches are still there. The nail is growing over the stitches and one stitch is pocking through the nail. The stitches are black. Do you think I should get the stitches removed.? And the big dumb question, do you think it is going to hurt.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
If it is a black suture, that is non-absorbable! Usually the absorbable suture are light colored or same color of skin. If it is black, it should be removed after 7 days...but u said a month ago.?

Better see your doctor again. And discuss about this suture/stitches u have.

Suture removal.?.?.? It is not painful, they will just cut the end of suture and pull it slowly. Make sure it is not red around the suture site and not infected.Health Question & Answer

You should really go see a doctor, especially if the nail is growing back. You could really wind up with a bad infection if the the nail completely covers the stitches. They really should be dissolved by now but since they are not the Doctor will probably take them out. It shouldn't hurt, as in scream hurt, but you may feel a little pinchy feeling. It shouldn't be bad at all for you. I have a very low pain threshold and I handled mine just fine. Please see a Doctor soon and Good Luck.Health Question & Answer
