Weird shock as I am falling asleep at night?!
Question: Weird shock as I am falling asleep at night.?
I'm not sure if this is common, but as I am falling asleep at night (You know, when your mind sort of goes free and you start to dream a little but you are still awake) I get these weird shock things every night. It goes like this: I am sort of daze-dreaming, and in my dream something happens (like I am going into a room or opening a box or something exciting) and my whole body shocks, and I practically jump out of bed a little. It's weird-really weird. It doesn't hurt, but I can't control it, and it freaks me out. It last like one second. Is this common.?Health Question & Answer

Don't worry, it's nothing wrong with you. I don't experience that every night but I have experienced it. I did some research on it because I was curious about what was going on when I had them. They say that it is because your body relaxes faster than your brain and the brain kind of freaks out that you're not moving so it tells your muscles to contract. Anyway, it happens. It doesn't mean there's something wrong although it can be annoying!Health Question & Answer
I experience this all the time. My friends and I all do it. When we stay at each others houses we always wake up laughing at whoever does it.
