Oh man, I am so sorry you feel that way, and I can understand how the blade might feel great, and then after wards, you feel so guilty. I believe that if you want to stop cutting, you have to figure out what makes you cut. I know it's because it feels great, and relieving, but what feeling makes you want to feel relieved in the first place.? Are you depressed.? Really stressed.? Or maybe have anxiety.? Figure out what it is that makes you feel so down, and then find another outlet. You need to find a positive outlet.

I know it sounds really cheesy, but people cut, people drink, people do drugs to feel better. But all those things only hurt you even if they make you feel better for just a little bit. Personally, I write about my problems. That may sound like it doesn't help at all, but really it does. When I write, I can see my thoughts more clear, and understand my feelings more. If I don't write, I feel like my emotions are all mixed around and I don't know what I actually feel. Do you have any friends you can talk to.? Maybe you just need to get out more too. I'm sorry this is so long. I hope my advice helps, mainly I just think you should find a good way to release your feelings without hurting yourself or anyone else. It's possible, just hard. But you can do it.Health Question & Answer

To not get infected either clean the cut with something dry then dab anti-peroxide on it. If you have a video game console buy an shooter game and let the bullets fly that may help the anxiety. But what I would do is figure out what is causing you to cut yourself.? You said anxiety; find out what causes it and avoid it or end it in someway or another. If that doesn't work then watch something funny as a peep me up.Health Question & Answer

You're concerned about infection.?.? Wow, I've never met a cutter who cares. Cutters welcome pain, so most cutters actually want to get an infection.

Just make sure your tool is clean, steralise it.

Other then that, the only way you can get better is to stop cutting. Find some other way to deal with your anxiety - even if it is as lame as punching your pillow. I know that's not what you want to hear, and it will be difficult... but its worth itHealth Question & Answer

Well one thing that really helped me quit cutting was to put an elastic band around my wrist and snapping it really hard whenever i wanted to cut. It worked really well as a replacement - because it HURTS just as bad as cutting - but you don't have to worry about getting an infection or having scars :)Health Question & Answer

i know exactly what your going through. one day i got so upset that i threw away all my *sharp objexts* and told myself it wasnt going to help only make worse. now i draw instad of cut...and stay out of the kitchen or wherever u cut. its also easier if u tell someone ans they make u promise not o cuz then u have that promise looming over u.Health Question & Answer

Personally, I think that you cut yourself because either you are sad, or confused. but the rapid mood swings, if you are not on drugs, may be the fact that you might be bi-polar. Everyone has feelings of happiness and sadness once in a while. Feeling high and feeling low are part of life.

But for someone with bipolar disorder (sometimes called manic depression), these feelings can be extreme:

* These ups and downs can be too much for a person to cope with.
* They can interfere with daily life.
* Sometimes they can even be dangerous.

The ups and downs

One day you may feel so depressed that you can't get out of bed. Work may seem impossible.

On another day you may feel great and full of endless energy. You may feel like you
