Question: Okay, I'm stuck in my life. And I'm getting frustrated... What do I do.? I'm just completely down on myself..?
I'm 15, I've had to get out of school for a month and a half ( Medical leave, panic attacks)... Everybody in my family is criticizing me for doing it, and talking to everybody in my small town behind my back saying I'm nuts and now I'm just home..

I just got back from vacation where I was outgoing and didn't have but 2 instances where I got nervous, and now I started getting closer to home I couldn't even go in a gas station I was so nervous around home. =( I just hate it here. I don't have friends, I don't have a good family, I'm falling way behind in school, and I'm hating myself more and more everyday... it's just not a good situation...

Like what do you recommend to get back on track.? I just can't go back to school, and my family is just ruining me, I can't take this town anymore... I feel like I'm playing the poor little kid who is too shy to do anything, and everybody is just completely tearing me down, I just hate it...

You sound just like me 10 years ago! I was consumed by panic attacks, anxiety and agoraphobia when I was teenager. I had to drop out of school. I couldn't leave my bedroom, let alone my house. I couldn't deal. After about 3 months of endless suffering my mother took me to the doc and we proceeded to try meds. I tried them all. Almost gave up and then he put me on effexor. I was able to live again. I really wouldn't recommend this drug to anyone, because the withdrawl is horrible. If I could do it again and know what I know now I might have tried to do it with therapy. If you can I WOULD recommend any book from Lucinda Bassett. That would help. Don't worry what ppl say, take as much time as you need to get well. You have soooo much to look forward too! My wife was kinda in you're situation except she had been going to therapist and psychiatrist for years and all they ever did was give her medicine which lead to a horrible pill addiction. But 4 months ago she was in the place where she had no hope and didn't think she could make it and only one thing helped her, she completely surrounded her life to God and we started attending church consistently. To this day she has not had a panic attack or any other problem she had been diagnosed with. She doesn't even have to take her anti-depressants anymore. And from my and her experience, God is the only answer!!! He is waiting to help you all you have to do is ask for it and surrender you're problems to him. Here is a site that might help you. Contact the Samaritans, if you have them in the states, or your nearest accident and emergency department if you are having thoughts of self-harming.

Other than that try to remember that these feelings pass, just be patient.

Tomorrow will not be so dark. They may come back, but depression and anxiety attacks hit you in waves and if you are patient, the worst will pass.

Try speaking to your doctor about cognitive behaviour therapy.This helps you to recognise the patterns in your moods and how to spot triggers and change you reactions to them.

I live in France and am currently trying to find a CBT practitioner who speaks English!! Not the easiest task in the world, but my sister is a nurse in the UK and swears by it.

The most important thing is to remember that you are not alone in the way you feel. A little internet research will help you to find forums or even local groups were you can find the support you need.

I breath in and hold my breath for 5 seconds. slowly blow your breath.
please try this method.
Think about your favorite song. Let that run through you mind.
Just remember when things are down. You can only go up.
Find a hobby that will help you to relax.
Remember drugs and alcohol are not the answer.
If you feel like hurting yourself. please tell someone first.
