I am afraid to go to sleep?!

Question: I am afraid to go to sleep.?
I need help. This problem has been going on for the past months.I am beginning to be afraid of sleeping. You see,I had this experience when I had a terrible nightmare.I woke up panting and breathing hard. When I went back to sleep, the nightmare resumed again and I woke up,again, heavily panting and breathing.I had never experienced a nightmare like that before.

Since then,I began to be afraid of sleeping.I was afraid of nightmares and even simple dreams.I would only go to sleep when I was tired from a day's work.Is there anyone who could advise me on what to do.?Any tips.?Health Question & Answer

Listen to music you like before you go to sleep. It works every time, my friend does it she has scitzophrenia or somthing like that...she will see **** like cat monsters on the walls "while s he is awake" and giant..like HUGE spiders running around...and she has terri ble TERRIBLE nightmares when she goes to sleep. one day i told her to listen to some music and she hasen't had a single one since then. So I recomend this to you. And I really hope it helps :D

. . .

A couple of months already.?

Nightmares normally come and go, rarely, dreams all the time, usually without trauma. Your sudden change suggests a toxic reaction to something, either mental, spiritual or chemical - or a combination of all three if you're especially unlucky!

Back to basics - start with a visit to the doctor if you can afford it. If not, sip water all day until you start feeling better.

I get awful reoccurring nightmares. I might wake up four times and every time i go to sleep the dream would start again.

Putting lavender on your pillow helps. Taking 5-htp puts you in a deeper sleep phases without the dreams but doesn't make you sleep longer.

The thing that helped me the most was my boyfriend telling me he put dream screen in the windows (he was joking) to keep the bad dreams out. So in my bad dreams I would hear his voice saying bad dreams can't get in, and then I would be able to stop the dream.Health Question & Answer

When you go to bed make sure that you are completely comfortable no tight clothing no bras.. anything that you know will make you feel at ease.. then you can feel confident when you go to sleep you won't have nightmares

I know the only time that I have nightmares is when my body is under somekind of stress like I am cold, I have my bra on, I am too hot etc

Before you go to bed you could also do something that will relax you like yoga..

Hope that helps!Health Question & Answer

i used to have recurring nightmares all the time for about 3 years actually, pits in the ground filled with eyeballs, and if i stepped in them they would suck me up and take my eyes.(WTF.?, i know right)

anyway, try thinking about something funny or pleasant, i personally replay episodes of south park in my head, using that technique seems to stop it from recurring when you fall back asleep.Health Question & Answer
