Question: Its hard to get over depression because of its STIGMA!!.?
Am i the only one experiencing that.?!.?!.? But c'mon.. I really want to live my life w/o feeling sorry for myself.. but every time i think about how i experience depression its hard for me not to feel sorry for myself.. I cant accept the fact i experienced it.. what would you do if you are in my position.?.? Health Question & Answer

u sure you actually hvae depression, and are not just "thinking" you do.? and if you think you do are you sure your not just sad.? have you ever even been diagnosed by the doctor.?

feeling sorry for yourself part sounds like hypochondria. thats no where a sign of depression to feel sorry for yourself.

when you have depression its more like you are so upset you feel sorry for anyone that has to know you. thast how i feel anyways.

No, of course not. You're not the only one who has suffered depression. There are many who have and are still.

There's lots of people you probably don't know and you might be surprised who suffer from it but they might not go around talking about it except maybe to their closest friends and relatives or to a therapist.

Then, there's lots of famous people who came out publicly admitted to having suffered depression

I don't know what you suffered but i hope you find a way to realize that your situation is not unique.

Yes, there will always be a some ignorant or unfriendly people out there who never suffered depression or maybe they're ashamed to admit it and will have no empathy for others. That is not to say they may never. But if anyone ever finds out about your depression and laughs at you or put you down, stand up for yourself. Have the utmost respect for yourself and treat yourself with kindness. If you don't respect yourself, how can anyone else respect you.?

Try to be stay positive and keep yourself busy by working towards your goals. Watch motivational music, speeches, lectures and movie scenes on youtube. Check out a video called The Secret Law of Attraction. But we're all different in that what works for one person, may not work for another. Find out what motivates you and how to reward yourself for staying positive.

If you want to get better, you have to accept what already happened cannot be changed and so why be upset about it.? The more you start facing your fears, the less scarier it is and the more you have a chance at overcoming obstacles you never thought possible.

Work towards helping yourself get better. Learn about yourself and what is good for your mental health and what isn't.

Life was not meant to be without some kind of struggle to get through. Life is life long learning experience. If never struggled much, we may never have compassion and empathy for others.

Try joining a support group, you might find that other people have suffered much the same things you have. By talking to others you can find out how they cope.

Remember that you are responsible for your own life. So if there are people in your life who are making you feel ashamed for being depressed, you should not pay attention to them. You need to take better care of yourself.
You deserve a chance to become more healthier, happier and stronger. But you won't get better if you settle for letting things stay the way they are just because you're afraid of the stigma.

Take charge of your life and hopefully you'll become a wiser, stronger person for trying to do the best for yourself.
