How do I get out of this self identity crisis?!

Question: How do I get out of this self identity crisis.?
I'm 24, have a degree in psychology, I'm married and expecting a baby.....yet, I'm miserable. Over the past year I've had the worst case of depression and anxiety I've ever experience, and I still feel I haven't totally recovered from it. What is left is this residue that just leaves me feeling worthless and not knowing who I am. I don't know what I want to do with my life, in fact I feel like I don't have an interest in much of anything that used to make me happy. Any suggestions on what I should do.? Or how one might pull themselves out of this.?Health Question & Answer

Sounds like you have mentally gotten bored with life. A professional like youself would probably say a slight case of depression as well which could be brought on by changes in your life.

You know that not being stimulated or able to enjoy things you use to is a sign of depression. You could have a chemical imbalance.

also, you could just be going through a blah phase in your life and need to find new things to identify your new individuality with. Your life has changed, so have you. See if you can make friends with other new moms and see what they do for fun or how they enjoy there time.

You will get better. Health Question & Answer

Ok... I wish I didn't read this post now...
I'm 23... And I have some freaky depression symphtoms myself. I feel worthless and have no idea why I came to this world at all!
But, see I was calming myself down, thinking that all I need to get married and have a baby and my little family and it would pass away. But reading that you still have the same problem... bummer!
I guess you should visit a doctor and really talk to them, in fact I think I'm gonna do the same exact thing!Health Question & Answer

God makes this promise in the Bible: "For God has not given us a Spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)."

You can claim this promise by accepting Jesus as your savior and applying scripture to your life.

Well, I'm just a 15 year old girl. But if I was in your situation, I'd go out with my friends as much as I could. Go to the spa :) Relax, you aren't worthless and you know who you are. You'll soon be the most important person in someone's life, you'll be a mom! Just try to chill out and do what truly does make you happy. Don't stress, and also, it might just be the hormones from your pregnancy. My mom says pregnant women are so hormonal and almost bipolar haha, no offense of course, so don't beat down on yourself. Be you! :)Health Question & Answer
