Question: Cant sleep!!!!! help meeeeeeeeee!.?
its five a.m. here in merry ol' deutschland, and i havent been able to sleep all night. what is the best thing i can do to clear my mind and finally go to sleep.? if anyone says counting sheep i will personally find you and kill you, im not in the mood...Health Question & Answer

I have trouble sleeping, too. I've found what helps is watching mindless tv shows until I drift off. Another technique I've used is daydreaming that I am asleep while other people are awake in the same room. Sort of like I'm with my family or at a party and nod off and others notice. I know it sounds stupid, but it does work. I also do crossword puzzles, but not with the room light on. I use one of those small book lights. For some reason the light focused on a small area with the rest of the room in darkness helps. And cover up the clock. Nothing is worse than staring at it all night. If something is on your mind about work, try calling your work and leaving yourself a voice mail or writing yourself a note. also try asking yourself what's the worst thing that could happen if you don't sleep. Or how well can you function on 3 or 4 hours. Putting it in perspective sometimes helps. Taking ativan doesn't hurt either. I hope one of these tips works for you. You have my sympathy. Try "sleepy time tea." It works for some people. Try taking a tylenol pm (only if you have a spare 8 hours for it to ware off) Watching anything that bores you. Or simply try turning all sounds and lights off and lay in bed. Don't think about sleeping, but think about something else. Whenever I've had problems with sleep, the solution was to take care of some business that was bugging me. After that was solved, I slept really well. also, google for sleep foods, things that will calm and warm your stomach before beddy bye time. Hot cereal is one of my tricks.Health Question & Answer
