I think I'm depressed. I just need someone to talk to...?!

Question: I think I'm depressed. I just need someone to talk to....?
I've lost my appetite for food and I always feel like crying. I don't know what to do anymore...I've told my parents but they didn't really believe me that I was actually depressed. I actually just feel like venting, but there is only one person in the world I can really trust and I can't talk to her right now because I don't have my phone. Is there any way I can get better.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Depression is a difficult and very personal thing because the struggles are unique to that individual. But there is a way out. You can look to others to help, but they will never have the answer you need. What you need is already inside you. You are the only one with the answers to your depression. Seeking out others only puts you in a position of vulnerability so that some snakes can try to take advantage of you.

Sometimes it can be very difficult, if not impossible, to get out of depression alone. I'm surprised your parents are not more concerned because they should be the ones you can go to, but it sounds like you have a good friend who cares. She would be good to talk to.

But someone who is always there for you is God, the Creator. He gives you everything you need. Not everything you want, but everything you need. And that includes answers. They are in you. They may be hard to deal with, but they are there. If you trust in God, He will walk on your side. When you are hurting too much to walk, He will carry you. His love never ends.

I know that you will come out of this depression a better person. Stronger, wiser, and definitely full of happiness. Everyone has hard times. I suggest that you read inspirational stories of people overcoming similar situations. You will see that you can get better. You will get better. I believe in you. God knows your heart. He believes in you. Health Question & Answer

if your parents don't beleive you and your going to strangers on the interent it must be true, a lot of people have a lot going on and there are many people in the same position, i have that problem alot here are a couple of ideas that always work for me
type your problems and go over them to basically figure all that is wrong
email it to someone
this one is weird but it works for me, listen to some music and find a song that is baically what is happpening and just listen to it over and over
sorry if none of this hellps but hope it does :)Health Question & Answer

I can definitely relate to that. I've had some severe anxiety my entire life, and I never understood it. My frustrations led me into a severe depression that lasted all through high school.

I tried to talk to my parents about it, but they gave me the same response yours did.

I eventually came to understand the emotional hurdles I had ahead of me, and realized that depression was only a symptom of my real problems.

I'd be happy to talk to you about it. I know a bit about it. Send me an email if you want to.

Join the club! WHOO HOO! Just kidding. I am clinically depressed too. Severely actually. And I can't talk to anyone. Until last week my parents finally took me to a psychiatrist. It helps. But, you can email me, and you could vent at me. I'll vent back at you. We could like tell each other our problems and comfort each other. Like a support group i guess. Sorry this is so short, It's almost midnight, and I am still up doing homework. That's what no motivation will do to you.Health Question & Answer

hmm hmm, i went through a spell like this when i was i think 15. It sucked. I felt like no one understood me or even cared. Feeling lonely, lost and empty is the worst. I lost all my appetite as well. It lasted for around 5months or so. But you wont feel like this for ever...i know it's an impossible though but you wont. Keep positive. Sometimes just talking to anyone about how you feel helps..just to let all your feelings out. I would recommend going to see the doctor so he can refer you to a counselor

When i did feel like pants though i really found music to help a lot, some songs really help raise your spirits and give you motivation. I also looked at cute pictures of guinea pigs >.> although i never told anyone this. Hope you feel better soon.
