Talking to doctor about possible medication for stress?!

Question: Talking to doctor about possible medication for stress.?
I'm going through a bit of a rough patch and I have seriously considered going to see someone about possibly trying meds to help me make it through. I have gone for a while trying to "deal with it" in muliple ways, but I'm still on edge all the time and near tears sometimes. I don't want anything long term, but I've got to get some relief.

Can I just go to my family doctor and tell her that I would like to try some anti-depressants or something like that.? I don't want her to think I'm just looking for drugs - but again, I've got to find some relief until things smooth back over.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
It is always a good thing to consult your doctor and explain to him exactly what is going on in your life. He may be able to offer you some relief through medication.

Another avenue is exercise. Join a fitness club and take time daily to exercise because it does get the endorphins in your body moving and puts you in a much better frame of mind.

also, try reading the Bible and meditating on God and have some prayer time. He does hear and answer prayers.
