What is the best anti-depressant drug?!

Question: What is the best anti-depressant drug.?
Answers:
I would say Cymbalta, which is what I'm currently on (90mg). I have been on almost every one of them you could think of: zoloft, prozac, paxil, effexor, celexa, on and on and on! lol! But everyone is different. What works great for one of us may not do anything at all for you. Trial and error is really the only way to know. But good luck to you! I hope you find one that works for youHealth Question & Answer

It depends on your body, your health, and what your other drugs you take. NO ONE can answer this but a professional, and only in person. Even then, the doctor may have to adjust the dose before any real effect can take place.

What's good for one person, can cause serious side effects that are worse than the depression. Everyone is different. Just because one worked great for another, does not mean it will work for you.

You can take some of the suggestions you receive here to your doctor to help YOU decide on what may be best for you. There are many out there - it depends on your age, physical health, the diagnosis, etc.

Again, only a professional, in person, can help you with this. Sorry, just being realistic here, because I am a nurse and these questions bother me because of the answers one gets. You cannot be diagnosed over the internet. Depression is a very serious illness that one needs a professional to work with.

A real professional would never give this info to you without seeing you first, because they do not know until they get your medical background and hear your complaints and symptoms.

Seriously,

Good luck!Health Question & Answer

There is no "best" anti-depresasant medication. It seems some doctors have their "favorites" so to speak that they use quite a bit (because they have seen very positive results in so many patients) and may want to start you out on that to see how you respond to it. Then go from there.
But each person is different. Some may respond very well to a medication and others may notice little to no difference.
Unfortuneatly it may take some time to find the medication that can help you the best.
I speak all this from experience. I have been on alot of different ones. Currently I am taking Cymbalta, which I am doing quite well on.
Good luck :-)Health Question & Answer

None!
In my experience and a few other people i know, they are BAD NEWS. Why take a drug that (can possibly) make you feel like suicide.? I heard that they don't even really know if they help or not and it's all about doctors prescribing them to make money for the companies that produce them. But who knows.
As for the best of a bad bunch, i dont know.Health Question & Answer
