I'm so tired I want to curl up and die?!

Question: I'm so tired I want to curl up and die.?
Sorry to moan, I feel a bit lost and unsure of where to turn.
This year has been horrible and everything seems so hopeless. I don't have the motivation to get on with my life and everyday i think about how i can kill myself but make it look like an accident.

I spend all night lying awake and that is what i'm finding really hard, i need to get some sleep. I was thinking about seeing my GP and asking for some sleeping tablets but I don't want to waste his time and i feel such a failure..............

What questions will my GP ask if i wanted sleeping tablets.? Health Question & Answer

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Go see your doctor immediately. You are seriously depressed and not thinking properly. There are all kinds of medication out there and when used correctly, you will be feeling alot better in no time. There are people out there who love you and would miss you terribly if you were gone. Don't give up on yourself. Talk to someone about how you feel today. The world needs you.

Sleep is a good escape but it's not the answer. I don't know what has gotten you to the point of wanting to take your life, but it's obviously overwhelming. Here's one thing to remember everything in life changes so this too shall pass. Take time to exercise because that helps. Consider talking to someone at church that can help you during this difficult period. Pray and ask for God's help too and watch how something just "coincidentally" happens. I'm praying for you too. Sweetheart you don't need a gp you need to see a psychiatrist who is specialized in mental illness. It sounds as if you are suffering from severe depression and there is help. There are many safe medications that will lift your mood and allow you to get a good nights sleep everynight. There is nothing to be ashamed of as mental illness is a disease just like diabetes or heart disease and requires medication. Health Question & Answer

You have major clinical depression go see a doctor if you don't want to go to the doctors office, get exercise, read the bible (if your christian), go for walks in the sun, and do some thing you enjoy, above all don't sit around and be idle that is a bad idea for some one like you in the state of mind that you are in.Health Question & Answer

If you're depressed and suicidal sleeping pills should not be within a 100 miles of where you can get ahold of them! Not being able to sleep is a SYMPTOM of depression... the real thing you need to figure out. Tell him you're depressed and he can point you in the right direction. Health Question & Answer

Your feelings are symptomatic of major depression. Many doctors are only trained to prescribe various types, and strengths of antidepressants, and counselling. If the depression proves to be resistant, their next approach is to recommend ECT, with its 1 in 50,000 risk of death, and the possibility of permanent, partial memory loss. There are many other things you can do to help treat your depression. The EMDR variant, on page O, of section 3, at ezy build, below, came from a book on depression insomnia; I use it every night; try it.

Moderate exercise for at least 20 - 30 minutes, daily, and up to an hour. Brisk walking is good, and try to be mindful of the feeling your foot makes as it hits the ground: it is a relaxation technique. also use daily, one of the relaxation methods in sections 2, 2.c, 2.i, or 11, and/or yoga, Tai Chi, and/or the EFT, in sections 2.q, 2.o, and section 53, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris whichever works best for you. Screening quizzes for depression are via page E, in section 1, or page J, in section 2. If positive, print, and consult a doctor, to eliminate medical causes, and ask for an appropriate referral.

Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. also take a vitamin B complex which is certified as being 100% of natural origin; a deficiency in vitamin B9 (folic acid, or folate) is known to cause depression. Around 30% - 40% of depressed people have low vitamin B12 levels. Depressed females using the contraceptive pill may benefit from vitamin B6 supplements.

Occupational therapy (keeping busy allows little time for unproductive introspection, and keeps mental activity out of less desirable areas of the brain). As options, if desired, either a known, effective herbal remedy, such as St. John's wort, (a German variety, if possible; local ones may vary in efficacy; take with a meal) or supplements, such as SAMe, or Inositol (from vitamin and health food stores, some supermarkets, or mail order: view section 55 at ezy-build ).

Initially, at least, some form of counselling, preferably either Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavio(u)ral Therapy. Co-counselling is shown in the first 3 pages of section 2, or online therapy, or even talking with someone you feel comfortable with, and a much more detailed post is on page R. For females, also view page V: "women to women", and if young; young women's depression.Teens: teen depression. Eventually, read the section. Suicidal thoughts are addressed in section 5; use the hotlines when needed.

It terrifies me when I hear about people who want to kill themselves. My brother is suicidal and he obviously feels like no one cares or loves him and in reality, he couldn't be more wrong. Every time I see an ambulance rush by or see a police car's flashing lights, my heart pumps through my chest.
The sleep thing is a vicious cycle, you can't sleep because you're feeling so crappy, but you feel crappy because you can't sleep.
My thing about sleeping tablets are that they're just a mental thing. Yeah, I'm sure they work, but what happens if you can't have them.? You're going to think that you need them to go to sleep.
My brother thinks he needs antidepressants to keep him even remotely functioning, but all he needs to do is open up and get help for his addictions and mental illnesses.

Talk to a professional, that's the best way to be helped.
I don't know you, but I do know that everyone has a purpose and a reason and I KNOW you have a ton of people who care for you, despite what you may think.
Depression isn't fun or easy, but people do get over it.
