Question: Once you have taken 10mg of diazepam how long does the effect last.?
because I'm sure i read some where that it was only 15 minutes at its peak then up to 1 hour before it wears off.

Should last you a few hours, depending on your tolerance. I suffer from anxiety, and if I take 10mg it can last me a few hours, it's not meant to make you swimming in relaxation but for two hours you'll be calmer. My script is 10mg 4 times a day prn (as and when). The effect of this drug depends on your state of mind at the time of taking.
If you recognise early enough and take your tab then you will calm down. However if you leave it too late then 10mg is like taking a sweet. You don't think it's working, but actually it is. The BNF max in England is 30mg a day max, albeit that is a guideline for our GP's or Pysch's. Try speaking to your prescriber, yellows 5mg may suit you best or are you looking for the mong situation. If so well....
Diazapam guidlines state 2 to 3 weeks. I've been on them for 7 yrs. With the help of my CPN, Pysch, and doc I'm getting there. Tolerance builds up extremely rapidly.Health Question & Answer

depends if i took it prob wouldnt even notice as my tolerance is so used to sleeping tablets etc.Generally takes about 15mins to work and lasts between then and up to about 3hours,depending on why you are taking it.Half life up to like over 100 hours so really depends!Health Question & Answer

The maxium dosage for 24 hours is 40mg so it would be expected to last at least 4/5 hours if you take 1 every 6 hours.
