Question: I keep getting pains in my chest when I inhale deeply or yawn, making me cough. Anyone know what this is.?
For the past.. about three days, I've been getting these tight pains in my chest when I inhale deeply or yawn, and it makes me cough, which means I'm breathing in more and it's hurting more until I finally stop coughing. The pain is kind of like a tight ball in the top of my chest. Anyone know what this means.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
it could be a lot of things. i would definitely go in to the doctor very soon to get it checked out.

it might be something small-scale like bronchitis.

or it might be something worse like pleurisy which is an inflammation of the lining around the lungs that gives you less mucus to protect your lungs as they rub against your lung cavity (causing pain). The mucus acts as a lubrication and less of it means more friction.

the definition from wikipedia: The inflamed pleural layers rub against each other every time the lungs expand to breathe in air. This can cause sharp pain with breathing.

It also might be pneumonia (my boyfriend had that recently). Complications from pneumonia can be very dangerous.

From wikipedia: Typical symptoms associated with pneumonia include cough, chest pain, fever, and difficulty in breathing.

so definitely go get that checked out!Health Question & Answer
