Boob job on the NHS - UK Residents only?!
Question: I have just lost a large amount of weight and I am left with a hideous amount of loose wrinkly skin where my breasts used to be. They look like 2 carrier bags with satsumas in the bottom (slight exaggeration but you get the picture). I'm only 23 and I am so self-concious about it.
My question is would I be elligible for some kind of uplift operation on the NHS? As I know its not affecting my health in any way but its really affecting my life in other ways.
Answers:
Yes you would be eligible.
If you can convince your GP that it is affecting you pyschologically, then you should have no problem.
I know someone who has had implants & convinced her GP to get them free - yours is a more worthy cause.
Well done on the weight loss.
Good luck.

You need to see your GP and ask for a referral to NHS hospital. If this does not work then I guess the only option is private hospital, operations cost around £3000-5000, could be more or less depends on what is included in the price. Your GP should be able to advice you, at least it is a 'psychological' problem, make sure he/she understands this, and much bettter that you lost the weight that carrying extra pounds and risking joint problems, heart disease etc later in life.
As far as I know you could get it done on NHS!
And as a woman I'd advise you to see your GP, relate, everyone that could refer you to the right institution straight away! I know a girl that had a tummy tuck on NHS a couple of months ago!
I do agree you've got to feel good about yourself!
I wish the governments were a bit more sensitive about such matters..the same governments that still allow junk food adverts targeting kids on TV ! I mean.., what's the matter with them..? Sorry, got a bit hot on the issue but it doesn't make sense - all that madness!
Hope you get it girl!
Good luck
