does anyone out there know anything about balloon valvotomy?!
Question: what is this procedure for can it help unstick mechanical heart valves
Answers:
well, balloon valvotomy is when a balloon is used to at the time of cardiac catheterization to increase the area of a narrowed valve, the procedure is to introduce a catheter through a vascular access which contains a balloon & when it reaches the stenosed valve they will inflate it and this will cause the valve to be widened.

i don't know
it is a medical procedure designed to change an older heart valva and to replace it with a new one.A catheter is set in your femoral vein and it is guided till the ill valve. Then a ballon is raised upthere, allowing the replacement of the valve
Puff---this doesn't work for mechanical valves.
