I got a single swollen lymph node behind my ear which has gone down after 2 week!

Question: i was worried about a possible exposure, but a doctor told me my
risk was extremely low, but does this type of swelling occur in HIV? how does lymph node swelling happen in HIV?
Answers:
Knowing your HIV status is always a good thing, so get tested if you're worried.

The swollen lymph node is most likely related to your sore throat. You had a throat infection, which may have spread to your lymph node or your lymph node may have been swollen due to all the action happening with your immune system as your body fought off the throat infection.

i doubt it but it could be the onset of mumps or measles.better check with your doctor
how does lymph node swelling happen in HIV?>>>

after you get a sore throat or ear infection
It could be genital herpes. I would get tested again. www.webmd.com is a good site.
the nodes might be reacting to your swollen throat, and that your throat maybe infected so your node are reacting as your anti bodies, your natural antibiotics
i dunno mabey its mono?
a simple infection in the drainage area, cervical area like scalp infection can cause this.In HIV infection some people will have cervical lymphadenopathy, which is reactive in nature. If there is no unprotected intercourse in last 3 months, forget this symptom and take tretment for pharyngitis.
Please check with a health professional you never know plus you may need a blood test and see what up it may be something or not ,but If I was you I do something before it to late it your body and you want to live you know again it may not be anything but I will check because if it goes on without checking it will get worst
mmm, the HIV cant be diagnosed by this kind of symptoums. 90% of the people have a flu symptoums, not just the sore throaght. So better go to the doctor and get tested
If you were worried about a possible exposure did you get a propholaytic dose of meds? Have you been tested for HIV? I would say it is direct correlation to your sore throat but it couls also be Herpes or Lymphoma. I wouldnt get all worked up about it though. Be proactive. Get an HIV Herpes and a CBC AND A WBC done to rule anything out. Normally I would tell you not to worry about it but with possible exposure I would have other things ruled out as well.
