Is it possible to have Chicken Pox twice in a life time?!

Question:
Answers:
Chicken pox is the common name for Varicella simplex, classically one of the childhood infectious diseases caught and survived by most children.

Chickenpox is caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), also known as human herpes virus 3 (HHV-3), one of the eight herpes viruses known to affect humans. It starts with conjunctival and catarrhal symptoms, moderate fever and then characteristic spots appearing in two or three waves, mainly on the body and head rather than the hands and becoming itchy raw pox (pocks), small open sores which heal mostly without scarring.

Second infections with Chicken Pox occur in immunocompetent individuals, but are uncommon. Such second infections are rarely severe. A soundly-based conjecture being carefully assessed in countries with low prevalence of Chickenpox due to immunisation, low birth rates, and increased separation is that immunity has been reinforced by sub-clinical challenges and this is now less common. This is more dangerous with shingles. There have been reported cases of repeat infections.

No unless you know you have a immune disorder that doesn't produce antibodies.

no. once ur immune system has the memory cells than u cannot have chicken pox again unless it mutates. there are other things that happen though.
Yes but it is quite RARE. If you think you may have them then I suggest giving your health care provider a phone call immediately. Reason being if it is or isn't, something is going on and needs attention.
Although very rare, it is possible to get them twice. But the second time instead of chicken pox, it usually comes as shingles. It is the same virus that causes them both.
Yes, but only rarely, usually signifying a dangerously problematic immune response. It is very rare though.
Yes it is. Especially if the first time you had them it wasn't too severe.
yes, my mother got them when she was 6, but only a few of the sores. Then she got it again when she was 14. There is also something adults get that is similar to the chicken pox,I believe it is called the shingles, only more serious and it can even be fatal!
With the Human Body anything is possible. I think that it is possible. There is so much that doctors DO NOT know about the human body. Strange things are uncovered everyday.
If you had Chicken Pox as a child, you still are a carrier for the infection to give to people who have never had it. As adults Chicken Pox can be fatal. Also the virus can cause what is called "The Shingles" whick are pox that swell up and skin called scar and it is very painful.
If you think you may have the virus, contact a compentent doctor today asap!
Yes, I believe it is possible. I once knew someone who knew a family lived nearby and everyone in that family all had chicken pox twice! I am not kidding. However, it is rare to have it twice.
I agree with Fire: It is possible, or at least was the case when I was much younger, the 'seconds' was very mild with only a few of the symptoms. We did have a very large family and close contact was inevitable: 4 to a bed.
