Is histoplasmosis common in Illinois?!
Question:
Answers:
Yes it is. Histoplasmosis is common in the Midwest, mostly through the Ohio river valley. Most people do not display any symptoms, so there are a lot more cases than are reported. There are about 50 cases reported in IL each year, although about 80% of people have antibodies, showing that most people in the area have been exposed.
