how do u get rid of swollen lips caused by an allergic reaction?!

Question:
i think the reaction was to theraflu not sure tough
Answers:
That has happened to me many times when I use a new lip gloss or lipsticks as I have extremely sensitive skin. When it happens, I go see a doctor. For me, it never gets better naturally. If I leave it, even though I stop using the lipstick, it gets worse. I always have a medical treatment like the a cream that I can get only from a doc.

Other Answers:
benadryl helps some allergic reactions. I don't know about that one tho.

Get a good antihistimine. Benadryl or something like that.

Take Benedryl, apply ice packs to the lips and give it a few days.

U really need to talk to ur Doctor about this

don't drink anymore theraflu, and if you have a benadryl take it.BUT
if you already treat yourself for allergies, take one of your zyrtec, allegra or claritin, Don't take both, take one or the other.it should help it go down, but call your Doc. in the first hour of opening.

I have that problem when I eat Pizza Hut Pizza. I think there is something in the sauce that does it. Benedryl dos not help. I have to get Prednizone from the doctor. After one dose, the swelling goes down within hours.

Suggestions:
1. If you're sure of the cause, then stop taking it. Your swollen lips will eventually normalize. I have done that.

2. If you can't wait, I agree with the answers of those ahead of me. You can take antihistamine (antiallergy) medications like Benadryl.

3. If the swelling is worse than usual, then you can go to a doctor and have an antihistamine injection. I did it when I had an allergy on my entire body from eating squid. After a day, the swelling and redness, disappeared.

Benadryl..

Benedryl, epinephrine, steroids. The severity of the allergic reaction will dictate the necessity of the treatment(s) needed.

Anyone that suffers from allergies should take advice from trained medical staff. Once you are Sensitised the possibility that you will have further reactions is a good one and in extreme cases can evolve into Anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis can be life threatening and needs careful management, as well as you may need an epi-pen. Our health and Government bodies need to address this problem as it is on the increase, and is going to be a major problem in the not too distant future. I am not saying you have it, but you need to be aware of its existance.
