Question:
I have nights that i cannot sleep.i toss and turn.but then finally give up and read or go online.when i do finaly fall asleep it is around 8 am and then i sleep until about 2. i have had this since i was about 6 years old (im 22 now).ive been able to cope with it by taking afternoon classes in school.but im afraid i wont be able to have a "real job"
Answers:
I do this too.. not since such a young age. but i am definitely a night person. I am up now.. lol (5am here) I get so caught up in a game or something like this. What i do now and then to try to adjust my sleep.. just stay up till the next night. Then im so tired i cant usually make it till 8pm lol. Like the other night stayed up then napped at 1pm cuz i couldnt last. But got up after a few hours and went to bed at 11pm.

But even then, its not like its horrible. You can have a "real" job working 2nd or 3rd shift.

Other Answers:
hey, there are jobs for the night. those with graveyard shifts. working at night. such as security etc. guess those jobs are for you. but if you wanna get rid of the sickness go visit your doctor..

A real job might be good for you, you won't be able to get away with sleeping until 2pm, which may force you into a more regular schedule.

I have the same problem. Some nights I don't fall asleep and just go straight to work, or go to work on just an hour or so of sleep. I get through it. You probably can to.

TAKE DRUGS !

lol we're both in the same boat :)
Sometime if you work out and do a lot of physical exercise, you'll be tired. Also, try feeling accomplished, or feeling like there is nothing you can do between 12 and 8 am. Everything will be the same, you just have to wait till the next day. I guess I'm just saying to clear your mind, exhaust your body, or consider a new bed :P

You need to force yourself to get up at the same time every day, whether or not you've slept enough. Because if you sleep until 2pm, you won't be tired that night when you go to bed, so you'll lie awake for hours, then you'll get up late.it's a self perpetuating cycle. You need to set a strict bedtime and rising time and stick with it. Don't nap during the day, or again, you won't be tired at night.

Try all the normal things before going to bed, a hot bath, a warm milky drink, nothing stimulating, so don't start reading a really exciting book or an action film that will get your mind racing. Try to have your bedroom only for sleeping if possible, and if that's not possible, certainly make sure your bed is only for sleeping, don't sit on your bed and study etc, your brain needs to be able to associate your bed with sleeping. But the most important thing is to get up at the same time every morning, it's the most likely thing to work for you. For a few nights, to get into this routine, you could try taking an anti-histamine at night which will help you sleep. But only for a few nights, you don't want to become reliant on drugs to help you sleep.
